Job Overview:
Mason Dixon Farms is seeking a skilled equipment operator to join our team. The Farm Equipment Operator position will be responsible for the day-to-day execution of tasks relating to feeding and field work. The primary duties will be operating farm equipment but given the seasonal nature of field work, general farm work and maintenance may be assigned. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:
- Operating articulated loaders to prepare rations
- Delivering feed with a tractor pulled wagon/mixer
- Field tasks such as spreading manure and crop work
- General maintenance of the equipment and tools
- Perform basic math calculations for measurements and inventory management
- Communicating equipment and facility needs with management
Qualifications:
- Previous experience operating heavy equipment is required
- Mechanical knowledge to perform basic equipment repairs desired
- Experience working in a farm setting is desired
- Basic math skills for measurements and inventory management
The Farm Equipment Operator will be expected to commit a minimum of 50-60 hours a week depending on a fluctuating workload. The operator will be required to work every other weekend and and will have a week day off (10 working days per two weeks). This position is compensated at $19-23/hour depending on experience.
